With the opening of our new 52 bed shelter the needs have grown as well.  Currently we have 14 Mothers and 29 children staying with us at the shelter.

We are in need of white towel sets, twin and full sheet sets, blankets, brand new pillows, and all things for babies such as diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo, etc.

Our housing clients are always in need of full size shampoo and conditioner, cleaning supplies, laundry soap, etc.  Mops, vacuums, brooms are need as well.

You can drop all donations at the New & Again Thrift Shoppe and let them know it is for shelter or housing clients.

New & Again Thrift Shoppe

New & Again Thrift Shoppe

The New & Again Thrift Shoppe began so clients of Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County and their children could shop for much needed items such as coats, shoes, pants, etc.

When a client leaves their home to escape abuse many times they leave all their belongings behind and literally come to our shelter with just the clothes they are wearing.  So when you donate new and gently used items to the thrift shoppe know that you are directly helping those in need.  Items not needed by clients are sold and all proceeds go directly to support our programs and services which are provided free of charge.

The shoppe is located at 3116 Rucker Ave., Everett-just one half block south of Pacific Ave.  They are open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm.     Parking is available on the street or around back in the alley.  All donations are to be dropped off behind the building at our loading dock.

We are currently seeking volunteers to specifically work on Saturdays.  If interested in volunteering on Saturdays please contact Stephanie Civey, Special Events/Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator at 425-259-2827, ext. 1013 or Stephanie@dvs-snoco.org and let her know that you are interested in volunteering Saturdays!

Wanted: Volunteers with a Heart!

Wanted: Volunteers with a Heart!

Volunteers are the heart of our organization and DVS has a number of different ways you can help.

If you are interested in helping clients directly you will need to take our 30 hour volunteer training class.  Held each fall and spring, these classes cover all aspects of domestic violence.  Once you complete the training you are able to work directly with clients and their children. You can help with legal advocacy, help with the children, cooking, answering the 24 hour hotline and more.  Some additional training will be required for some positions.

If you are interested in a more casual way to volunteer consider helping with our Special Events or at our New & Again Thrift Shoppe.  The 30 hour volunteer training is not required for these positions.

We hold 3 Special Events throughout the year including our annual Chocolate Lovers’ Gala Auction in March, our Handbag Auction and Luncheon in June and our Hope within Luncheon in the fall.    There are numerous positions available including check-in and checkout, computer data entry, procurement, decorations, setup and more!  We also always have need for help in our service center office.

The New & Again Thrift Shoppe is located at 3116 Rucker Ave. in downtown Everett.  Our clients shop free of charge for essential items such as jeans, shoes, coats, kids clothing and more.  All items are also for sale to the public.  Volunteer positions include sorting and pricing donations, cash register, sorting, ironing, picking up donations and more.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Stephanie Civey, Special Events, Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator at 425-259-2827, ext. 1013 or Stephanie@dvs-snoco.org.
